What Testpress does well
Testpress was built for test preparation from the start, and it shows. Its exam templates handle sectional timing and negative marking, its analytics break performance down by topic and subtopic, and it offers proctoring. It protects paid content with DRM-encrypted video and watermarked PDFs, and institutes get branded apps on Android and iOS. It says more than a thousand coaching institutes use it.
On several of these, Testpress is ahead of Akhaara today. We don’t do video at all. Our Android app, proctoring and offline tests are marked Coming soon, and students on iPhones use our web platform. If your institute sells video courses that need protecting, or needs branded apps in both stores now, Testpress is the better fit.

Testpress quotes branded-app pricing per institute. A software directory reports self-serve tiers from about US$22 a month for 100 users, but that is not the white-label price most institutes ask about. Akhaara publishes every price, from ₹21,600 a year at founding rates for institutes under 300 students, with unlimited students on every plan. Our pricing comparison sets the figures side by side.
Marathi in depth
The test screen runs in English, Hindi, Marathi and Kannada (ಕನ್ನಡ). Questions and solutions are in English, Hindi and Marathi (मराठी), and students can switch language mid-test. The bank holds 1,07,429 Marathi question variants across 28 exams, and our ready-made Maharashtra series, including MPSC Group B and C, Talathi and Police Bharti, come from Quiz4Exam, where Marathi-medium students are the core audience. Kannada questions and solutions are Coming soon, so for now institutes teaching in Kannada upload their own papers. We haven’t tested Testpress’s regional-language support in depth, so ask it for a demo in your language.
A question bank with attempt data
Testpress is mostly used with an institute’s own content. Akhaara’s Platform + Test Series plan adds ready-made series for 49 exams, drawn from 2,49,250 questions that carry real attempt data from Quiz4Exam students: how often each question is answered correctly and how long it takes. If your faculty already write everything, the Platform plan is the fairer comparison.
Rank prediction from a real cohort
Ranks and percentiles across all your batches and branches are live. Rank prediction, which estimates where a student will land using past cohorts who sat the same tests, is coming soon, as is all-India benchmarking, which stays off unless you switch it on. Weigh both as not yet available.

For state-exam institutes
If most of your batches prepare for Maharashtra exams, or you teach in Marathi, language quality and a ready-made state series matter more than video. That is where Akhaara is meant to be strong, and where you should test us hardest in a demo. What to compare in both demos
If you are choosing between Testpress and Akhaara, ask both for the same things and compare them side by side:
- A full mock for your main exam, taken on a phone, in the language your batches use.
- The result page and the batch report a teacher would see after that mock.
- How a paper your faculty wrote in Word gets onto the platform, including diagrams and Devanagari text.
- Where the vendor’s name appears, if anywhere: login page, results, app listing.
- A written first-year total for your student count, and what changes at renewal.
Then run one batch on your preferred option for a month before moving everyone.

Which suits state-exam institutes?
It depends on the exam and the language. Check whether each platform has ready-made tests for your state exam, and ask to see a full mock in Marathi or whichever language your batches use. Akhaara has ready-made series for MPSC Group B and C, Talathi and Police Bharti; for other state exams, both platforms work from your own papers.
How hard is it to migrate?
Student lists and question papers usually move without much trouble. Results history rarely transfers cleanly, so export the reports you want to keep first.
