Where Classplus fits
Classplus, started in 2018, was one of the first platforms to put Indian coaching institutes on their own mobile app, and it now says more than one lakh teachers use it. For thousands of institutes it was the first time students could watch recorded lectures, join live classes and pay fees in an app carrying the institute’s name.
It is strongest where most of the work is video and fees: recorded courses, live classes, fee collection and tools for selling courses to new students. If that is your main need, Classplus is a reasonable choice, and switching may not be worth the disruption.
Why test-prep institutes look elsewhere
Institutes whose batches prepare for banking, SSC, railway or state PSC exams tend to raise three points.
Exam engine depth
A full-length mock is more than a list of questions with a timer. It needs sectional timers where the real exam has them, the right marking scheme including negative marking, the same question palette and review buttons, and results that show accuracy and time for each section. Platforms built around video usually include online tests, but the depth of the engine varies. Run a full mock on it before you commit.
Ranks that mean something
A rank among 40 students in one batch tells a student less than a rank among several thousand. All-India ranks need a large pool of students sitting the same test, which a platform built around each institute’s own content cannot easily provide.
Prices you can check
Classplus now advertises a one-year plan on its website, but add-ons and any commission on in-app sales are harder to pin down. Reviews report a commission on course sales; Classplus does not publish a rate. Our pricing comparison lists what we could find for each platform.

Testpress
Built for exam-driven institutes, with exam templates for sectional timing and negative marking, topic-level analytics, proctoring and DRM-protected video, plus branded apps on Android and iOS. EduGorilla (Gibbon)
Gibbon, EduGorilla’s white-label platform, comes with a ready-made question bank the company says covers more than 1,400 exams. Suits institutes teaching across many exam categories that want content included and don’t have faculty writing papers for each one.
Akhaara
Runs on the exam engine behind Quiz4Exam, with ready-made test series for 49 exams, tests in English, Hindi and Marathi, and ranks across every batch and branch. All-India benchmarking is coming soon, not live, and it stays off unless you switch it on. It has no video courses or fee collection, and it is new, so its track record is shorter than the other two. If you decide to switch
You don’t have to move everything at once. One option is to keep video where it is and move tests first. Before you start, export your student list and past results, since results history rarely transfers cleanly between systems. Run one batch on both platforms for a month, compare the reports your teachers get, then decide.
Whichever platforms you shortlist, test them the same way in the demo:
- Take one full-length mock yourself, on a phone, from start to finish.
- Check the result page: score, rank, percentile, and accuracy and time for each section.
- Ask to see the same mock in the language your batches study in.
- Ask for the first-year total in writing for your student count, with any commission shown separately.
- Ask what happens to your student data if you leave, and how long an export takes.

What does Classplus cost?
Classplus advertises a one-year plan at ₹29,999 on its website. Software directories report plans from about ₹19,999 a year plus GST, rising to around ₹50,000 with add-ons, and reviews report a commission on course sales made in the app. These are figures as reported on 27 September 2026; ask Classplus for a written quote for your institute.
Are there cheaper alternatives?
For tests only, Qwiktest advertises 30-day packs from ₹799. Akhaara’s founding rate for institutes under 300 students is ₹21,600 a year for Platform, with unlimited students. Learnyst starts at ₹3,499 a month, about ₹42,000 a year. Cheaper only helps if it does what you need, so compare first-year totals for your student count.
Can we move our data from Classplus?
Student lists and question papers can usually be exported and brought across. Past results and analytics rarely move cleanly between platforms, so download the reports you want to keep before you close your account. On Akhaara, uploading your own papers is live on both plans, and setup help is free on founding plans.
Which is better for mock tests?
For full-length mocks with sectional timers and negative marking, a platform built for test prep, such as Testpress or Akhaara, usually gives you more control than one built around video. The quickest way to judge is to run the same mock on each and compare the student’s screen and the report you get afterwards.
