Where national platforms fall short
National test platforms are built around exams with national audiences: banking, SSC, railways. State exams like MPSC tend to get fewer mocks, and pattern changes reach them late. Marathi content is uneven. Much of it is translated from Hindi or English, and students notice words no MPSC paper would use.
These platforms also market to your students directly. A student who joins a national app for MPSC mocks soon starts receiving offers for its courses. We explain the pattern in why students drift to national exam apps.
Get the paper pattern right
An MPSC mock is only useful if it matches the paper students will sit. As of September 2026:
- Combined Group B and Group C prelims: 100 objective questions, 100 marks, one hour, with marks deducted for wrong answers.
- State Services (Rajyaseva) prelims: General Studies, 200 marks, counts for merit. CSAT, also 200 marks, is qualifying at 33%. Wrong answers carry a negative mark.
- State Services mains: descriptive since the 2025 cycle. In June 2026, MPSC announced that the optional subject will be dropped from the 2027 cycle.
Check the current MPSC advertisement before you finalise a series. The fraction deducted for wrong answers and other details are set there, and they do change.
Genuine Marathi, not translated Hindi
A Marathi-medium aspirant reads a question faster when it is written in the Marathi used in MPSC papers and state textbooks. Translated questions often carry Hindi vocabulary, awkward word order or English terms left as they are, and in a timed paper that costs marks. Ask any platform for a full Marathi mock, and have one of your teachers read it before you decide.

Honest ranks against a real Maharashtra cohort
A rank is only useful if it compares a student with others preparing for the same exam. A rank within your own batches is a start. A rank among thousands of Maharashtra aspirants who sat the same paper is better, and it should never be inflated to keep students happy.

Building an MPSC series for a batch
For a Group B or Group C batch, a workable structure over the months before the prelims looks like this:
- 12 to 15 full-length mocks in the prelims pattern, one a week in the final three months.
- Subject tests for history, geography, polity, economics, science, and arithmetic and reasoning, matched to your teaching plan.
- A current-affairs test every month, since that section changes with each cycle.
- A review class after each full mock, using the topic-wise report to pick what to revise.
State Services batches need the same rhythm for prelims, with descriptive answer practice for mains marked by your faculty.
The draft Maharashtra coaching law
On 20 August 2026, Maharashtra published a draft Private Coaching Centres (Registration and Regulation) Act, 2026. As drafted, it would require any centre coaching more than 25 students for a fee to register each branch online, keep digital student records for 10 years, issue fee receipts and follow set refund rules, with fines for breaches.
It is a draft, not law. It drew 11,410 suggestions and objections by 7 September 2026 and more than 15,000 by 17 September. Coaching associations have asked for major changes, including a higher registration threshold, and its final form is unsettled. Treat the points above as the draft’s proposals, not rules in force today.
Whatever the final wording, digital records are likely to make registration and record-keeping easier. Akhaara keeps a dated record of every test each student sat, with scores and reports, and you can export it at any time. Class attendance stays in whatever system you already use.

Yes. Your name and logo appear on the login page, every test, every result and every rank list. Students don’t see Akhaara’s name.
Are the tests in Marathi?
Yes. The ready-made MPSC Group B and Group C series are in Marathi and English, with solutions in both, and students can switch language during a test.
Can we add our own papers?
Yes, on both plans. Upload your faculty’s papers for any exam, including State Services prelims, which is not in our ready-made bank, and mix them with bank questions in one test.
What does it cost?
